Fisk plays pivotal
role in Largest Fire Sprinkler Plant in the World
Project involves many other Tyco companies
With 40 acres and
225,000 sq ft/2,300 m2, Tyco Engineered Products & Services built the largest automatic fire sprinkler
head plant in the world. Comprising 150,000 sq ft/ 13,900 m2
of manufacturing and office space and a 75,000 sq ft/ 6,900
m2 warehouse and distribution operation, the new plant is located
in Lubbock, Texas (USA). More than 100 people gathered on June
4 at the site near Lubbock International Airport, including
representatives of Tyco Fire & Building Products, Tyco
Infrastructure Services, Fisk, the Mayor of Lubbock, as well
as other city and community leaders.
"Our objective is to build and develop a state-of-the-art,
world-class fire sprinkler production facility that enables Tyco
Fire & Building Products to compete globally with the lowest-cost
manufacturing possible," says Len Schiavone, Vice President
and General Manager of the current Lubbock operation. "We
have been growing in Lubbock since 1968 when we first opened
the Grinnell plant, and we will continue to build upon that foundation
for future business expansion plans within the region.

The building was completed in March 2003, with a total investment of US$13 million.
