More than 2 million sq ft/ 185,000 m2
of unprecedented 21st century architecture is set to be unveiled
this fall in midtown Manhattan, and OneSource helped build
it. OneSource Building
Technologies [a division of Fisk Corporation], has positioned
OneSource as the single-point provider of building technology
products and services for the developers and future tenants
of this landmark property.
The two 750-ft/228 m, paired towers of the multi-use complex will open with more continuous communications, media, and technology enhancements than any new high-rise structure currently under construction in New York City and possibly worldwide.
Called the TimeWarner Center, the site
will feature the media giant's new world headquarters, as
well as CNN's live cable television broadcast studios, the
permanent home for Jazz at Lincoln Center, a five-star hotel,
191 luxury condominiums, seven levels of retail shops, six
top restaurants, and a mind-boggling list of other attractions.
"We've made a tremendous investment
here, so we intensely evaluated the strengths and talents
of each core company selected to partner with us," says
Tim Hindert, President of Related Experiences, the company
responsible for corporate partnerships in the Center. "We
found that OneSource is uniquely positioned to add value to
any large development project such as this through its depth
and breadth of products and services, operating capabilities
that consistently deliver, and its financial strength which
gives confidence to the project team."
The technology within the TimeWarner Center
is considered a new model for mixed-use development. The Center
will be the first to build such a tremendous scale of cutting-edge,
integrated technologies to deliver voice, data, cable, and
other services. "OneSource's partnership role in this
project not only promises a long-term business relationship
with the Center owners and tenants, but also showcases their
ability to successfully deliver to similar large-scale development
projects expected to arise around the country...
In the TimeWarner Center project, Tyco
Electronics' AMP NETCONNECTT will supply miles of cabling
with the company's AMPTRAC TM solution systems. Once the initial
infrastructure is installed, additional AMP NETCONNECT cabling
will be installed over time as residential and commercial
tenants occupy the immense property.
Beginning this fall, more than 12 million
visitors a year are expected to make this showcase property
part of their New York City experience. The next time you're
in the Big Apple, make sure you include a day at TimeWarner
Center - an impressive landmark literally connected by OneSource.
