Largest Flash Memory Chip Plant
in the U.S. – It’s often said that everything’s bigger in Texas. While that’s not always the case, you’d make a good argument for Fisk’s recent success in designing and building the electrical for the Samsung semiconductor plant in Austin. The 1.6 million square foot facility is the largest 300mm NAND flash memory plant in the U.S. – that’s over nine football fields for the total footprint. What’s even more staggering is that Fisk completed the project on a very aggressive production schedule – approximately 400,000 man hours over the course of six months. The project peaked with 476 highly-trained electricians and employees, with a talent pool drawn from all over the U.S. Fisk worked closely with the local IBW union to manage the labor on a project of this magnitude. Throughout the course of this project Fisk was able to utilize a multitude of the cost savings productivity and processing alternatives it has and continues to develop as a direct result of its industry knowledge and field expertise. Fisk’s extensive pre-construction planning, project evaluation and scheduling, procurement analysis and logistics management techniques enabled Samsung to realize millions of dollars in costs savings over the life of the project. The result… a winning, well built job and an enduring client relationship.
