Fisk Dallas Completes Design-Build Projects

Fisk Dallas has recently completed two design-build religious worship projects bringing the total of completed church projects in the last ten years to 25. Of the twenty-five projects, 21 have been design-build, and 4 have been design-assist. By partnering with the general contractor, architect, mechanical contractor, and other technical disciplines, Fisk has been able to be part of a team that can offer advantages to the client including:

• Coordinated team approach from schematic design through design development and construction documents.
• Control of design and cost which limits risks of budget overruns for the owner.
• Immediate and accurate electrical input on owner - requested changes allowing important decisions to be made quickly during the pre-construction process.
• Minimization of electrical changes and added costs that are not owner initiated.

In addition, our design-build approach strengthens relationships and trust between the construction team members and the owner. This promotes open communication that aids in meeting budget and schedule goals. Present day religious worship projects have a heavy emphasis on the audio visual and theatrical lighting components. Fisk is responsible for providing the infrastructure to support the increased electrical loads associated with theatrical lighting, dimming cabinets, amplifiers, and power for traveling shows. Fisk as a team member helps blend the requirements of the audio visual consultants into the overall electrical design and assists in coordinating the installation to avoid unexpected delays.

Fisk Electric in Dallas was able to build the Christ Fellowship project in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in conjunction with the Fisk Miami office. Miami provided supervision and manpower to help the project run smoothly and stay on schedule. Fisk Dallas senior project manager, Steve Dickman, worked with Miami’s superintendent, Danny Carpenter, and General Foreman, Glen Courtney, to successfully build this project.

As Fisk Dallas continues to diversify, they continue to work on worship centers and churches, additional high-rise facilities and medical centers – including a long-time extensive electrical service relationship with Cook Children’s Medical Center in Ft. Worth.
